Apply Your Fragrance Right And Smell Good!

Perfume For Women
By Ronald Wan

We all adore our favourite perfumes and revel in spraying a few drops onto our body, hoping to smell all amorous and sexy to our partners. But even when it comes to applying scents, we need to do them right. There are techniques to follow. If you’re the clueless kind who has been spraying the scent as if you’re spraying insecticide, stop. You might as well bathe yourself in bottles of your CK One or DKNY Delicious.

What should be the best way to apply?
  • Pour a little of the perfume onto your palms and splash onto skin. Dab it if you’re feeling dainty. (Guys, avoid this method unless you bat for the same team). Spraying is the most common method.

  • Some may apply the deodorant only and skip the perfume or cologne but do remember deodorant only helps to prevent odors and not create a scent. Try using a fragrance-free deodorant first on the armpits then apply perfume a while later.

  • Apply perfume on some of the body’s pulse points: the wrists, the back of the neck, the base of the throat, on the chest, inner side of the elbows and behind the knees (where the scent will travel up).

  • When you sweat, it will break the scent and allow it to linger. Never apply perfume onto your clothes and apparels because some perfumes can leave stains on fabrics. Less is more. Limit yourself to about 3 sprays. Don’t get all trigger-happy unless you want the whole office to know you’re wearing Escada perfume.

  • Don’t rub your inner wrists when you spray your perfume as they can break the scent

  • If you have dry skin, you might need to reapply your fragrance more often than those with oily skin.
Another word of advice, proper storage of your perfume can lengthen the life of your fragrance. It will help if you store your bottles in a dark and dry place. Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat as some may react badly when exposed to high temperatures.

For the guys, do consider the following scents – musk, vanilla and ylang ylang. They are known to turn on women.
