Cut Cost and Save It For The Trips

All of us would want to save for possible trips this summer season, also to have that a little of that disposable income to do what we want.
By: Lawrence

It's nice to have this quality time eating out on good restaurants once in a while with our family or special someone. It also feels good to have this simple freedom of treating them either coming from our bonus or simple savings. We can lessen our expenses by noting these reminders on saving on our electric bills.

First would be keeping our home appliances well maintained. Household appliances operate more efficiently and use less energy when it is in good working condition. One should know its limits and give it proper cleaning.

When shopping for a new refrigerator, one should choose energy efficient refrigerators. Check the label attached to the refrigerator, units that have a higher Energy Efficiency Factor are more energy efficient and cost less to operate. Newer refrigerator models use 30% less electricity than those built 10 years ago and newer models usually use less as companies now go eco-friendly. A 4-tick refrigerator saves you about $130 a year over a 1-tick mode. Similarly a 4-tick air-conditioner saves you about $460 in electricity bills a year in comparison to a 1-tick model.

Upon shopping for a new appliance have this insight. Think of two price tags of the appliance, the first price would be the purchase price and then think it as a down payment. Then the second price would be the price tag of how much cost the product will yield during its lifetime of service. You'll be paying on that second price tag every month with your utility bill for the next 10 to 20 years. Refrigerators usually last an average of 20 years while air conditioners and dishwashers last for 10 years while clothes washers for about 14 years so weigh it well.

Lastly, home lighting costs about 20% to 30% of one’s electric bill so make sure that it provides direct lighting on needed spots and attain a habit of turning it off when not using . This also goes true with monitors, televisions sets and other general appliances. One must remember to opt compact fluorescent lamp and switch off home appliances at the power socket as standby power can account for up to 10% of one home's electricity use.

In times of recession, one must learn how to adapt and have a better allotment of our resources. Would it be nice to have these simple savings and use it for persons that truly matters.

Make Her Feel Special

Make her feel that you are dating her for what she is as a person .
By Lawrence Caniamaso

Every girl has her own style, viewpoint as well as physical make up. In dating girls I always do my best to make the person feel that she is special in her own way. This is knowing that each and every date is different in one’s historicity and in character.

In dating looking good is a must and doing some research on your date will not hurt as from there you can strike a good conversation. Putting and seeing yourself on her shoes yet maintaining your identity would secure a better talk, as similarities will be the grounds of sharing.

In choosing a place , find a good one that is to make her feel special away from too much crowd also to develop intimacy with your date. Don't talk about previous relationships and heartaches and start with new things with new hopes. Communicate to her that you are serious and with good intentions with her. Be confident and give your best foot forward always in dating since it is advertising of oneself but do remember not to be pretentious.

Make her feel as a person as you get to know her hobbies, interest, thoughts and let her express it. Also, make her feel that you are dating her for what she is now and that is what matters the most. Share your views and insights on different kinds of things simple or astute. Then brazen all of these using your charm and with your smile ; )

Interior Decorating For Kids

Who spends the most time in the kids’ bedrooms? The kids do of course! So why not make it a room they want to be in?

By Komee Carpenter

I BELIEVE kids are born creative. Unfortunately, living life usually squelches most of that creativity unless it is carefully nurtured. You can help your children maintain their creative nature by allowing them to express it. That’s where interior decorating for kids comes in.

Kids start having color preferences at an early age. Test this out yourself by giving them choices. Rather than purchasing a cute outfit for your child because it’s fashionable or because you like it, pick out two or three and give your child the choice. If you do this often enough with various items and choices, you’ll start to see a pattern emerge. Go with it.

Who spends the most time in the kids’ bedrooms? The kids do of course! So why not make it a room they want to be in? Let your kids have a say in how it’s decorated. Give them choices, and guide them along the way.

The Death of Passwords

3 Easy steps to increasing user productivity, enhancing authentication, and lowering password reset costs with Enterprise Single Sign-On.

Every user has personally experienced password frustration: the inability to remember a password for an important application when you need it, and the difficulty and delay in getting the password reset by the IT help desk. This results in frequent calls to the help desk for password resets, which are estimated to cost USD$25 (SGD$38) to USD$40 (SGD$61) per call. Whilst waiting for the password to return to the application, there is lost productivity of the user too.

In an attempt to counter this problem, most users end up selecting easily remembered “obvious” passwords like a variation on their name, birth date, or social security number. Unfortunately, these passwords become vulnerable to cyber attacks from hackers, leading to security breaches.

Computer industry gurus such as Bill Gates are now calling for the elimination of passwords. “There is no doubt that over time, people are going to rely less and less on passwords. In time, we will completely replace passwords”, he concluded.

Exercising Your Pets

Whether it's a dog, cat, turtle or bird, this guide to exercising your favourite companion has got you covered

YOU know it's good for you. You know that exercise can give you energy, help you maintain a healthy weight, keep your muscles and joints flexible, help you live longer, and above all, make you feel better. For all the same reasons, your pets need to get up and get moving. Not only can exercise extend your furry friends' lives; it may also expend some of their nervous energy and make them a little less likely to chew on the living room drapes.

The thing is, nobody's filled pets in on all of these benefits of pet exercise. Without someone to lead the way, they're not going to run laps or do leg lifts in their spare time. So as a wonderful pet parent, part of your job is ensuring your animal family members get safe, enjoyable exercise on a regular basis―whether they're cats, dogs, turtles, or ferrets! All pets need some physical activity to live a happy, healthy life.

10 Tips for Preventing Pet Behaviour Problems

Source: www.healthypets.com

Make your pet so well-behaved, people will think it went to a Swiss finishing school!

1. Set rules immediately and be consistent.

2. Avoid situations that promote inappropriate behavior.

3. Observe the pet and provide what it needs (food, care, attention and entertainment).

4. Supervise the new pet diligently through undivided individual attention and training, and restrict the pet's access to a limited area of the house until training is completed.

5. Set them up to succeed! Encourage good behavior with praise and attention.

6. Correct bad behaviors by providing positive alternatives (a toy for a slipper, scratching post for the sofa).

7. Never physically punish or force compliance to commands. This may lead to fear biting or aggression.

8. Don't play rough or encourage aggression or play biting.

9. Expose pets to lots of people, animals, and environments where you want them to live.

10. See your veterinarian if serious or unresolved behavior problems exist.

Bashful First Fire of Dawn

An unexpectedly shy and sensible demeanour – could this really be Dawn Kwan, the 11-year-old art prodigy whose paintings have been selling for thousands since she was five?

IN THIS WORLD OF HYPERBOLE, a writer hesitates to use superlatives. Nowadays, saying something is the best, ingenious, fabulous, fantastic and so on seems to automatically heighten people’s scepticism. Yet “prodigy” is the first word that comes to mind when one wants to speak of Dawn Kwan.

Looking at Dawn’s paintings, you get a sense of passion and a huge joy for life in the large brushstrokes and bright colours, but there is also a sense of control in the sophisticated choices and the obvious restraint evident in the strokes that form the shapes and, most importantly, the textures that are fast becoming one of her trademarks.

Yet upon meeting her, there is nary a hint of the fine painter that Dawn is becoming. Instead of the laughing, animated girl one might expect, Dawn is surprisingly reserved. Dressed in black leggings and a loose white tunic, she hovers in the background behind her mother, Swee Lin.

Under Swee Lin’s encouragement, Dawn begins the interview shyly, speaking in monosyllables before gradually opening up, though never quite making it to the pages and pages of chatter that an obviously mistaken writer expected while glancing through the prolific number of paintings by the young artist.

Yet there is something restful and charming in her hesitant smile and quicksilver laugh, gone in a flash; something touching about the way the unassuming and polite young girl shoots occasional fleeting glances at her mother who has retreated a short distance away to give her a measure of space and independence.
