Heal and Discover Yourself at Z’hado
This cozy beauty and wellness spa near Bugis MRT delivers quality products and services — it is soon launching its organic facial using eco-certified products from the Swiss Alps — plus actual results

Z’hadoPampering body massages are just one of many services being offered by Z'hado

OUTSIDE on the narrow Liang Seah Street (opposite Bugis MRT) is the maddening eat-and-drink crowd exploring the famous “ma la” steamboat. Yet inside Z’hado, located on the second floor of a shophouse building, it is cozy and relaxing — just the way its manager Leo intended it to be. The beauty and wellness spa counts executives and tai-tais as its regulars and loyal clients. The reason they keep coming back is the warm reception, friendly and good service Z’hado offers guests.

“I don’t mind whether we are big or small,” says Leo. “I’m concerned with good service and results.” The 37-year-old manager used to be a fashion merchandiser before moving into the beauty and wellness industry because “I want to maintain my youthfulness and beauty the holistic way”.

Z’hadoZ'hado also offers makeup services by an experienced makeup artist

Dedication, innovativeness and creativity has made Leo pursue ways to improve the quality of therapies at Z’hado. These include its soon-to-launch organic facial using products sourced from the Swiss Alps which is eco-certified.

The name Z’hado comes from the Japanese symbol of HADO (Healing and Discovering Ourselves). Inspired by Masaru Emoto’s revolutionary best-seller “The Hidden Messages in Water”, two good friends decided to set up the spa to spread this unique philosophy of healing and health.

SPOILT for choice, I opted for the Lavender Drizzle. Attended by Ivy, the therapist, the session started with a foot wash. We then proceeded to the treatment bed for an oil-prep, followed by a lavender floral exfoliation. Then, it was off for a warm shower in the adjoining outdoor garden amidst the greeneries and nature. The shower facility, which included a sunken bathtub, was designed to be hidden from prying eyes or high-rise building heightens.

Then, it was an hour of blissful Aramsa Touch massage. To my delight, I was serenaded not only by the soothing background music but also by the melodic chirping of birds and sounds of nature. The therapy ended with a relaxing facial, which enhanced my overall therapeutic spa experience.

The SD Advisor's take on Aramsa Spa
The whole spa experience left me feeling totally rejuvenated. As a person who loves nature and spa, this combination is heaven sent. Indeed, how often do we, considering our hectic lifestyle, take time to appreciate the bounties of nature?

At Aramsa Spa, one gets to enjoy a “room with a view” while relaxing and, at the same time, nurturing one's well-being. Moreover, it is a spa getaway within Singapore that all the bells and whistles you'd normally get in spas overseas. Best of all, it comes at a fraction of what it may just have cost you for a quick getaway – you can use the extra money for additional pampering.

Spa Review: Aramsa Spa (PART 1/2)

SPA REVIEW
Aramsa Spa: A Lush Haven In An Urban Jungle

ARAMSA Spa
is a spa unlike others. Set in a tranquil park, amidst canopied tress, foliages and acres of greenies, it is 7500 square metres big and boasts of an architecture that mirrors its setting: countless open spaces, various garden themes, as well as see-through floor-to-ceiling glass panels.

From the reception to the therapy rooms, a sense being one with nature permeates as you feast your eyes on the beautiful landscape and gardens, the brainchild of Nature Landscapes.

The spa boasts more than 20,000 plants from over 200 species – a testimony of its objective to create a nurturing and holistic approach to wellness.

Traversing on a cobblestoned path to your assigned therapy room is nothing less than therapeutic. You will be greeted by carefully manicured gardens – bromeliad elliptical garden, fern garden, secret garden (ginger and herbs), scented garden and heliconia garden – each one a feast for the eyes.

Indeed, all your senses will be hyped up for your upcoming therapy.

Aramsa Spa has 14 rooms, and each has its own garden. There are four double suites, three premium suites, five standard suites, and two Vichy shower / hydrotherapy suites.

The Vichy shower, nicknamed the ‘rain dance', combines the therapeutic benefits of massage and water.

Recommended for those with back injuries, this treatment “shoots” water onto you while you lie down on a treatment bed. The cascade of hot water, which is controlled by a computer panel, is pure heaven!

The hydrobath comes equipped with colour therapy, recommended for those who want to remove unsightly cellulite.

Pick from an array of treatments ranging from exfoliation, body wrap, water, face, eye and back therapy.

Otherwise, opt for the Garden Spa Packages. This includes the highly popular tropical Java Lulur, Botanical Energy, Mineral Infusion, Rain Dance and Lavender Drizzle, to name a few.
